How to cope with the world not being full of great conspiracies and magic?

Category:

The vision of a world which is full of big conspiracies makes the world look very interesting. Just like the vision of magic makes the possibilities look infinite. However, what if the world is limited by the laws of nature and what if things just happen without a big conspiracy behind them? What if mundane things really happen and what if powerful people are not trying to hide a great secret from us?

Then one might feel bored and he might tend to use his wishful thinking to imagine a more interesting world that would better fulfill his emotional needs. He would start searching for any anecdotal evidence which would kinda support his view. And he would evade those who wanna take him to the old boring world of reality. They are like his enemies.

Is there a better way to solve the emotional stress? Without leaving reality? It is a sad fact that the truth is not here to fulfill our emotional needs. The truth just is. But the good thing about the truth is that it works! When your mind is in accordance with the truth, your plans will work! But if you believe stuff that is not true, your tests of it will fail. And that will bring bad emotions. But when you conform to the truth and set realistic goals, you can achieve them and that will bring you happiness. You don’t need some interesting fake stuff that doesn’t even work.

We should be humble and accept that we are not the center of the world and that the world is not here to surrender to our wishful thinking. We are just little players inside it and we need to analyze the world and work within its limits. The vision that you know a secret truth that most people don’t know will make you feel superior to them, while the vision that you’re just an arrogant person who believes in fake stuff to fulfill his emotional needs is not attractive. But the virtuous man, when his ego conflicts with reality, he submits to the reality and humbles himself. Because he doesn’t want to be the bragging guy who actually has nothing. That would be a shame.

And is reality really that bad? The more time we invest into studying reality, the more we realize how many things we didn’t even know we didn’t know, so there is always a possibility of finding something real that is unexpectedly fulfilling. And when something is boring, we can just accept it and move on.
